  • Kit 2.6 Polaroid  120, and Microtek 120f, ,
  • Kit 2.7 Minolta Multi Pro,
  • Kit 2.8 Imacon,
To use the Kits for the Polaroid 120 the Microtek 120F and the
Minolta Multi Pro Scanners you need:
Only the film holders that came with the scanners. No extra
holders are necessary.  The holder cover flap must be removed
temporarily so that it will accept the ScanScience scanner glass.
The Polaroid and Microtek 120 Scanners both use a long film
holder that accepts 250 mm glass. The Minolta MultiPro takes a
6X9 Glass. The ULTRANS overlay and masks for these
scanners are both made to this format.
The Minolta mullti-pro uses a 6x9 glass and all the kit
components are made for this format. Like with other film
scanners the lid on the inserts has to be removed to accept the
scanning glass.
Fluid scanning, has these advantages:
  1. Achieves a flat film plane and
  2. Eliminates Newton Rings.
  3. By placing the film under the scanning glass, additional
refraction is avoided, and the image has a clear path to
    the sensors
  4. The fluid scanning kits are cheaper and more effective
    than the glass holder.
Other Facts about Fluid Scanning with these
Scanners
  • What about fluid dripping inside the scanner?
  • A concern with beginners is that the fluid will drip inside
the scanner. However, the fluid mount is totally dry
externally before it goes into the scanner and then, the
only existing fluid is internal: A micro-layer between film
    and glass, film and overlay.
  • What about Image quality output from a fluid scan from
    the these scanners?
  • The special quality of a drum scan stems from the fact
that drum scanners are all fluid scanners. Fluid
scanning upgrades all these scanners significantly. The
output of these scanners when used as fluid scanners is
    excellent.
  • Remember to order spare plates.  Save time by
assembling one mount while scanning another.
The Imacon Scanner curved film plane prevents using scanning
glass, instead, the film is wet mounted between two overlays.
The many sizes of Imacon holders prevents us from publishing
data, call us with your yours and we will quote you.

The overlays are cut to
dimensions which are 10 mm
wider and longer than the
HOLDER window.
Because there are many such
holders with assorted
dimensions, the user gives us
the dimension of the holder.

Scanning plates are only

must with plate sizes beyond
the single slide format.
