What about fluid dripping inside the scanner?
A concern with beginners is that the fluid will drip
inside the scanner. However, the fluid mount is
totally dry externally before it goes into the scanner
and then, the only existing fluid is internal: A micro-
layer between film and glass, film and overlay.
What about Image quality output from a fluid
scan from the Nikon 9000/8000?
With a drum scan its special quality stems from fluid
scanning. Fluid scanning also upgrades the Nikon
9000/8000 significantly, and the output -short of
turning out central station filling murals, are
outstanding.
The Nikon 8000 with is highly collimated light
source, takes full advantage of wet mounting, which

scanner without the drawbacks.
